NEWBERRY - Newberry College interim director of athletics has announced the Wolves will hold Military Appreciation Day for the football game against Shorter University. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, at historic Setzler Field.
All current and former military personnel will be admitted to the game for free along with one guest. Proper identification must be presented for free admittance. A special halftime presentation will honor each branch of the military.
"We at Newberry College are thankful to our veterans and current military personnel for their service to our country," Finley said. "We are glad we can offer them free admission to Saturday's game as a small token of our appreciation. We hope to see many members of our military who are stationed nearby at bases like Fort Jackson, Shaw Air Force Base and Fort Gordon come to Newberry and cheer on our Wolves!"
